BAND HISTORY

Black Sabbath is a heavy metal band formed in 1968 in Birmingham, UK.

Its "historical" training consists of Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums).

Subsequently, there were numerous changes in band, and Iommi was the only fixed component. Although sometimes is classified as a hard rock band (Butler set the style once as heavy and distorted blues)

Black Sabbath is considered one of the first heavy metal groups in history (next to the Led Zeppelin) and also contributed greatly to the development of this genre.

From 1970 to 2000, were sold over one hundred million albums, making Black Sabbath one of the most successful heavy metal bands, along with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Metallica.
